  Land Wars

  The Battle of Gallipoli had become an issue of pride for the Allied Forces, particularly for England. England’s world known navy had suffered a significant loss and it lost its reputation both in the eyes of its own nation and the enemies.

  Naval Wars

  A decision on the Battle of Gallipoli was made on January 25, but the first operation took place on November 3, 1914, when England declared war against the Ottoman Empire and when the strait was bombed by the English naval ship. The fleet that was comprised of two English and two French battleships, four battle cruises and eight combatants bombed the Bastions of Kumkale and Orhaniye in the morning of November 3.

• Aerial Wars

  As is known, human beings have tried to fly at different times throughout history and this goal has been achieved for the first time by the Wright Brothers in the United States on December 17, 1903, when they flew a 12-horsepower airplane named The Flayer. In fact, after this date, a particular emphasis has been placed on airplanes both within the US and in Europe, and flying and the studies and developments in this regards have especially increased.

  The Allied Forces’ first attempt towards the Dardanelles Strait was planned in 1914, when the war initially started. After the Ottoman Empire entered the war, the Straits again had come to the top of the agenda. Russia had appealed to England in January 1915 for help.

  Evacuation And Victory

  English command echelon had had heated discussions and negotiations after the serious defeat they suffered in Anafartalar on August 9 and in Conkbayırı on August 10. In the following days, even though they launched new attacks against Anafartalar and Kireçtepe directions, any other attack that took place on the Peninsula did not yield any significant progress.
